With this hand-cranking vegetable spiralizer appearing on their Good Grips line, OXO has created what many people may find to be the best vegetable spiralizer on the market. With it’s simple and sleek design and incredible ease-of-use, this unit provides one of the sturdiest packages available when it comes to spiralizers. However, there are some minor caveats, such as a slightly higher price point when it comes to other hand-cranking vegetable spiralizers on the market, only three different blades to choose from, and the lack of any electrical power. Still, with it’s effortless simplicity, incredible durability, and nearly unprecedented functionality, this may be the unit of choice for many people.

This unit includes a spaghetti, fettucini, and ribbon blade, each allowing for a different size and shape of zoodle. While this is considerably less of a variety than some other zoodle makers on the market, it does cover all your basic needs. Most chefs will likely not find themselves missing the fancier and more frivolous additions. It’s not so much a plethora of gimmicks and features that make this vegetable spiralizer from OXO an exceptional package, but more it’s durability and ease-of-use. Just looking at the unit may fill the chef with much less dread that other spiralizers on the market– this is a spiralizer that doesn’t take a lot of work to figure out. Once you’ve got it down, you’ll be cranking out hefty amounts of zoodles and other interesting culinary creations in no time at all.

Another possible downside to this unit for some, of course, would be the fact that it isn’t motor-powered. For those who are aware of the debate between motor-powered and hand-cranking spiralizers, there are pros and cons for each. Motor-powered units allow you to make large quantities of zoodles with minimal effort, but they are generally more expensive, harder to clean, and more temperamental. Hand-cranking units, on the other hand, may require more manual labor but will typically lead to a more consistent final product, allowing for finer care in cranking. As well, they are typically cheaper and easier to clean.

Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5

When it comes to hand-cranking units, there are few that offer the simplicity and ease-of-use as this one from OXO. If you don’t care about the lack of variety and the slightly higher price point and simply want one of the sturdiest vegetable spiralizers on the market, this may be the best vegetable spiralizer for you. The lack of variety in blades is more than made up for in the simplicity of this spiralizer’s design. It is one of the easiest spiralizers to use, one of the easiest to clean, and one of the easiest to store. On top of this, it’s incredibly functional design lets you make zoodles with ease, regardless of the need for some slight manual labor.
